First
trimester of pregnancy includes the first until the third month of pregnant. It
can be difficult to pass especially for those who experience this for the very
first time. Yet, if you can
understand the changes during this time and expect what you might experience, you
will know how to pass this exhilarating time assuredly.
What are
the changes?
The first
thing that you may experience is vomiting frequently. It causes by your
heightened sense of smell during the first trimester of pregnancy. Some various odors such as foods
cooking, perfume or cigarette smoke might arouse you to vomit in early
pregnancy. Avoid any foods or smells which can make your smelling sense sensitive to
reduce the vomit frequency.
Due to
hormonal changes, you will also experience having a tender and sensitive
breast. Wearing a supportive bra or a sports bra might help you. Do some
massage to your breasts to reduce the pain and it can also stimulate the
hormones to produce milk.
Other
changes which might disturb your daily activity are urinating frequently and feeling
sleepy. During pregnancy, your bladder will get pressure from your enlarging uterus. It might cause
you to leak urine when sneezing, coughing or laughing. Use panty liners to keep
you secure from leaking urine. During
this time, levels of the progesterone hormone soar. It causes pregnant
women to easily feel sleepy. You can't really fight this fatigue. Drinking coffee
can possibly harm your fetus, so rest as much as you can and do physical
activity such as a brisk walk to keep you full of energy and avoid dizziness.
Besides hormonal changes, you might
also experience some emotional changes during this time. You will feel happy,
sad, worry, anxious almost all at once. Avoid any negative thinking and take a deep
breath to help you relax. Once your emotion is overwhelming, try to rely to
your husband to help you staying calm or else consult with your health
consultant.
Hormonal and
emotional changes affect your body during this time of pregnancy. Knowing the
changes you might expect and understanding it will help you face this time
confidently. There is no need to worry to pass this time for those who pregnant
for the very first time once you know what to do to take care of yourself
during the first trimester of pregnancy.
